40TH ANNUAL ART SHOW
February 11-12, 2012
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Matlacha Park
Pine Island
This year the Pine Island Art Association's 40th Annual Art Show and Sale will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 11 and 12, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event will draw the largest crowds of the season to Matlacha. This is where pelicans and great blue herons circle above moored fishing boats, brightly painted galleries, and fresh fish markets.
The show is located in the Community Building in Matlacha Park, 4577 Pine Island Road, just west of the Pine Island bridge. It will feature the works of more than 100 artists, and will include more than 500 paintings in acrylic, oil, pastel, pen and ink, and watercolor, with an emphasis on Florida landscapes, seascapes, birds, fish and flowers. All are ready to hang in your home.
Art lovers can choose from the large selection of original mini paintings,
3-1/2" x 4-1/2", all double matted. Carefully painted by Association members, they are attractive when displayed alone or in a group. Minis may be purchased for just $10.00 each. Frame kits designed to fit the minis will be available for $10.00 each. Framed, or just matted, they make wonderful gifts or treasures for your own home.
Be sure to visit the PIAA show first, then tour the local galleries and restaurants and be delighted by the local color. Pine Island and Matlacha are remnants of a time gone by. It is a place comfortable in the past. It remembers the sounds and customs of a Florida drifting away ... a Florida that holds many charms and fascinations.
Be sure to be there. The Show and Sale will be Saturday & Sunday, February 11 and 12, from 10:00 to 4:00 in the Community Building in Matlacha Park. Look for it just west of the Pine Island Bridge then turn south into the park.
