Clear blue skies, balmy breezes gracefully swaying palms, the flavor and charm of historic Matlacha, 90 artists and 500 paintings and drawings were the recipe for a successful 36th  annual Pine Island Art Association Show and Sale. On February 9 and 10th a steady stream of more than 3300 people visited the show at the Matlacha community center and purchased 111 paintings and 500 minis. Beginning with the excitement of a long line of visitors waiting for the doors to open on Saturday morning, and ending on Sunday afternoon with the satisfaction of a job well done, the Pine Island Artists treasure this one-of-a-kind event. Already we look forward to next year's show.

On the previous day  Ron Bishop, Director of the Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison College, and Michele Valencourt, Executive director of the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County, juried the competitive portion of the show.  Here are the winners.
