While our breezes were not quite so balmy as usual, the sky was still
blue , and thousands came to experience the
flavor and charm of historic Matlacha and the 38th annual Pine
Island Art Association Show and Sale. More than 400 paintings were
displayed by the 78 participating artists. Our customers purchased
133 paintings and more than 600 minis. Beginning with the excitement of a long line of visitors waiting for
the doors to open on Saturday morning, and ending on Sunday afternoon
with the satisfaction of a job well done, the Pine Island Artists
treasure this one-of-a-kind event. Already we look forward to
next year's show.
On the previous day Rona Steingart and Sally Tappy juried the
competitive portion of the show. Here are the winners.
