Cyndi Egan "My love of nature and beauty has inspired me to make art since I was a small child. I have always been intrigued by the shape of natural forms, and the play of light on them. I do invent my own forms and colors of things, but I believe the reality of my creations already exists somewhere in the Universe. I take joy in the original expression of that which surrounds us. Ultimately, I want my paintings to express energy and a sense of wonder to the viewer.” Cyndi
was educated at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
She has a Bachelors degree in Art and a Masters degree in Art
Education, and has taught art for 27 years at all
levels. Since
retiring from public teaching, Cynthia paints full time, and displays
her work in various shows and exhibitions in the area. Cyndi
primarily works in oils and acrylics but sometimes does collage, and clay
work, and also mixed media. Her
subject matter is varied, and she explores various techniques in an attempt to
create the most suitable expression for each piece.
Her paintings are noted for their unusual combinations of colors, and
strong contrasts. She
has had her work on display throughout Florida.
Her work has been on exhibition at Edison Community College, Cape Coral
Art Studio, Captiva Island Library, the Phillips Gallery on Sanibel Island,
Charlotte County Art Center, Pine Island Art Center, Alliance For The Arts in
Fort Myers, Florida Gulf Coast
University, Harborside Event
Center and the Wild Child Art Gallery in Matlacha, FL. Cyndi
has won several ribbons and
recognition for her paintings at the local level, and continues to strive for
excellence in composition and expression in her work. You may contact Cyndi at: cyndiegan@earthlink.net or call 633-5150(weekdays 8AM-5PM)
