"I was brought up on the west shores of Lake Erie in a small town called (Point Place) Toledo, Ohio and studied art for 3 years under Lamaxie Glover (noted for his sculpture works). While serving in the U.S. Army I painted murals and abstract paintings. I married and had 3 beautiful daughters and presently have 6 grandchildren.

I worked for 30 years on the railroad and then was forced to retire due to an injury. In 2002 my wife and I moved to Cape Coral, where I studied art under Denise Spates for one year at a local art studio. I have been a member of Pine Island Art Association and Cape Coral Art League and have served on the Board of both leagues. I have continued taking classes with several teachers until the present day. My work is in collections in California, Ohio, Florida and Michigan, and during my short painting span, I have received several awards through various art shows, including several first place awards. I have also been featured in several local newspaper articles regarding my art work and in magazine articles in Sandusky, Ohio. You can contact me at gehmann@comcast.net.
