Lorraine is a well-established artist, who has been painting for 50+ years. She graduated from Southern Illinois University as an art and music major, and pursued graduate studies at Eastern Illinois University in Art Education. Lorraine and her husband moved to Florida in 1985, when they retired. She has been teaching at Pine Island Art Association for 15 years. “I belive that art is a very personal thing, and if it is not pleasing or satisfying to the artist, it is not valid. Experimentation is necessary in order for me to express myself.” L. Koets Lorraine brings this philosophy to all of her classes, and she is constantly motivating her students to try new and different techniques in order to broaden their artistic endeavors. |
