Deborah Kerr-Conley is a native Floridian, born and reared in Key West. “Having grown up surrounded by clear turquoise water, blue skies and brilliant flowers I was always intrigued by color,” she recalls.
Deborah taught special needs children in Florida schools often using art projects to motivate and excite her students to learn from new experiences. She now finds herself living in Bokeelia on Pine Island and again surrounded by the beauty of South Florida and the loving support of her wonderful husband, Charlie. “Since discovering how mixed media works with watercolor, pastel and acrylic, I feel re-fired … not retired.” She sees each piece as a new challenge to explore art. “My creations bring me joy and I hope to share that joy with others.”
Deborah is a member of Pine Island Art Association and has won many awards. Her work is in the University of North Florida and in private collections in Saint Augustine, Miami and the Florida Keys. She is currently represented by Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral, Florida.
